Sound familiar after ChatGPT?
You got your answer. Here's what still happens after you close the ChatGPT tab.
Copy the answer into email, Notion, Slack. Finding where it goes is on you, every time.
"Use our format." "Formal, lead with the conclusion." Instructions and data, retyped in a new chat.
Rework the rough draft into your own words. Deciding, choosing and checking are all yours.
Ask and it answers. Request and it creates. But the asking and the going back are still your job.
What you really wanted after the ChatGPT answer
Same ChatGPT. Same plan. This is how it should look when the meeting ends.
Work is picked up from meetings and Slack and gets moving before you say a word.
Emails in drafts, client notes in Notion, updates in Slack. No pasting.
Your tone, your order of checks, your priorities. Learned from your work, repeated your way.
"OK to send at this price?" That one question is all that comes back.
This starts from the first meeting after you connect your ChatGPT account to SIMY.
Where ChatGPT stops
ChatGPT is great at "answering what you asked." What comes next, nobody picks up.
- AskWith a preamble
- AnswerIn Chat or Work
- Copy-paste
- Fix
- Share
- Ask again next time
* Illustrative flow for explanation only
GPTs, projects and Scheduled Tasks stop in the same place. The preamble gets shorter, and it runs at the time you set. But you still decide where it starts, and you still carry the answer to where it belongs.
SIMY connects the rest. Just link your ChatGPT account
SIMY fills the four blanks. Only one square, the decision, comes back to you.
- Ask
- Answer
- Picks up from meetingsStarts without asking
- Lands in placeEmail, Notion, Slack
- Your formatWording you don't need to fix
- Team updateQuote assumptions for the team
- Next time, unaskedSame meeting, same format
- Price checkOnly the decision returns
* Illustrative flow for explanation only
- Picks up from meetings and chats
- Works your way
- Returns only decisions
SIMY doesn't replace ChatGPT. It uses Codex in your own ChatGPT account as the doer, picks up work from meetings and chats, learns the checks and priorities you repeat when you do good work, and follows the same approach. You ask only once.
- Open the SIMY integrations screenNo account yet? Sign up for SIMY first.
- Connect your ChatGPT accountPlus or above, where Codex is available. No new API key, no extra subscription.
- Connect where your conversations and records liveSlack, Notion, Google, Plaud and more. SIMY picks up work there and returns results to the same place.

What you need: a ChatGPT plan with Codex (Plus or above). Codex usage counts within your ChatGPT plan. Gmail stops at saving drafts; posting to Slack and writing to Notion require your approval.
One sales call: asking ChatGPT vs. letting SIMY run it
A sample where a summary is posted to the Slack deal thread after a 45-minute sales call. ChatGPT on the left, SIMY on the right.
- Chat: "Summarize the call notes"
- Evaluating a sales enablement tool. Piloting in 3 departments. Quote due by end of October. IT joins next time. Issue: integration with the existing CRM.
- Work: "Write a follow-up email and client notes"
- A thank-you draft and a client notes table arrive. You reword the email and paste the notes into Notion.
- After that
- Share the quote assumptions with the tech team on Slack and send options for the next meeting. Whenever you next remember.
From the Slack deal thread, SIMY chooses your "post-call follow-up" pattern. No instructions needed.
Subject: "Thank you for today, and next steps." Confirms the quote by end of October and asks for IT to join next time, in your usual wording. Saved to Gmail drafts.
Adds stage, decision timing, concerns and next attendees to Notion. Posts "Could the tech team confirm whether CRM integration is feasible?" to Slack. Both with your approval.
Quote amount and delivery date. Only what needs your judgment comes back to you.
SIMY picks it up, Codex builds it, and you decide and send. The deal itself is still where you shine.
By industry: what you used to ask ChatGPT, and what SIMY delivers
Work you used to request from ChatGPT every time now arrives without asking. Solo or on a team, the pattern is the same.
Sales Slack, Gmail, Notion
- "Summarize the call notes"→Meeting records build up in client notes
- "Write a thank-you email," every time→A draft per recipient arrives, in your words
- "Research this company"→Key points and past concerns ready before you meet
Financial and insurance advisors Plaud, Notion
- "Organize the interview notes"→A proposal outline drafted right after
- "Plan the next proposal"→A plan that combines every session so far
- "List the homework"→Homework for next time, after every meeting
Dental and clinics Plaud, Slack
- "Summarize the huddle decisions"→Decisions reach the staff automatically
- "Write the explanation"→Follow-up explanations for consultations, drafted
- "Write the monthly report"→A report combining several meetings
Record only with patient consent and in line with your clinic's rules.
Leadership meetings and 1:1s Slack, Notion, Google
- Asking "where are we on that?"→Only pending decisions come up to you
- "List decisions and owners"→Decisions and owners already shared
- "Write the weekly report"→A weekly report across meetings

GPTs, projects and custom instructions: ways to avoid re-asking, and their limitsWhat you can and can't do inside ChatGPT
Three ways to stop retyping inside ChatGPT
- Custom instructions: set your role, industry, the documents you often write and phrases to avoid, and every prompt gets shorter. Write down the standards you keep when you do good work, like "Emails formal, lead with the conclusion" or "Show amounts with and without tax."
- Projects: create a project per client or deal and keep its files and chats together, so Chat and Work start from the same context.
- GPTs (custom GPTs): lock in the pattern for one task, such as "a GPT that turns meeting notes into our format." Public GPTs in the GPT Store work on the free plan, but building one requires Plus or above. GPTs shared only inside your workspace can be built on Team or Business and above (as of October 2026).
How to build a GPT in 4 steps
- Open "Create a GPT." Building requires a paid plan, Plus or above; the free plan can only use GPTs (as of October 2026).
- Set the instructions, knowledge files, conversation starters and capabilities. It's fine to have ChatGPT draft the instructions for you.
- Choose who can access it. Only you, anyone with the link, or your organization (on Team or Business and above).
- Use it. Examples: an advisor that has read your company documents, or a GPT that summarizes news from a URL.
Even so, you open the GPT, paste the files or URL, and ask, every time. SIMY takes over from picking up the work in meetings and chats.
Wait-for-input prompts: a trick that works on the free plan
Start with "Turn the bullet points I send next into prose using these rules. Reply 'OK' if you understand," then send only the data.
In long chats it gradually forgets the first instruction, so start a new chat and set the rules again when it drifts.
Even so, you open the chat, re-paste the rules and carry the data every time. SIMY learns your way of working from conversations and moves forward without instructions each time.
What's still left
A GPT is a pattern for one task. You decide when it starts, paste the transcript, carry the result to where it belongs, and open the same GPT again at the next meeting. In long chats the first instruction stops working and you may have to start over.
Scroll the table sideways →
| Item | Custom instructions and projects | GPTs | SIMY |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it locks in | Your standards and deal context | One task pattern | The follow-up workflow for each type of meeting |
| Who starts | You open a chat | You open the GPT | SIMY picks it up from meetings and chats |
| Your way of working | Written and saved as text | Written into instructions at build time | Learns the checks and priorities in your work |
| What you get | Answers | Answers | Drafts delivered in place, and one decision |
How to choose: if you call up one pattern yourself, GPTs are enough. If the same kind of meeting happens every week and the work after it is the same every time, that's where SIMY comes in.
Five settings to fix before using ChatGPT for workTraining opt-out, custom instructions, projects, memory, where answers go
- Check the training setting On by default
Settings → Data Controls → turn off "Improve the model for everyone." It is on by default on the Free, Go, Plus and Pro personal plans, so check it before entering client names or amounts. Business and Enterprise data is not used for training by default. - Put your standards in custom instructions. Your role, industry, the documents you write and phrases to avoid. Write the standards you keep when you do good work, like "Emails formal, lead with the conclusion."
- Separate deals with projects. Keep files and chats together per client or deal, so Chat and Work start from the same context.
- Decide the scope of memory. With memory on, ChatGPT answers with past chats in mind, but you may not want it to remember client names or amounts. Decide up front whether to limit it to projects or turn it off.
- Decide where answers go and what starts the next task. Don't stop at copying the answer. Decide whether it lives in Notion, Google Drive or Slack. Having a set place is the entry point that connects your work to SIMY.
A pattern for asking: goal, audience, structure, constraints
When asking for an email or similar, write these four first and you'll fix less.
Example: "Goal: reschedule a meeting. Audience: a director at a client. Structure: apology → three time options → request for reply. Constraints: under 80 words, formal."
Even so, you write the pattern and ask every time. SIMY picks up "who gets what" from meetings and chats and takes it as far as a draft, your way.
Plans compared: Free, Go, Plus, Pro, BusinessWork and Codex access, ads, and whether SIMY can connect
US dollar prices are as of October 2026, excluding tax. Prices vary by region, so check the ChatGPT pricing page for yours. Ads and GPTs details are from public information as of October 2026.
Scroll the table sideways →
| Plan | Monthly price | Ads | GPTs | ChatGPT Work | Codex | Works with SIMY |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Shown | Use only (no building) | Desktop only, limited | — | — |
| Go | $8 | Shown | Use only (no building) | Desktop only, limited | — | — |
| Plus | $20 | None | Use and build | Web, mobile, desktop | Yes | Yes |
| Pro | See pricing page (three tiers: Pro 100, 200, 500) | None | Use and build | More usage than Plus | Yes | Yes |
| Business | Per seat, standard and premium seats (see pricing page) | None | Workspace-only GPTs too | Web, mobile, desktop. Premium seats have no 5-hour limit | Yes | Follows workspace policy |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | None | Workspace-only GPTs too | Depends on admin settings | Yes | Depends on admin settings |
Which plan: Go shows ads, just like Free. If you want ChatGPT to do real work, Plus is the minimum: Work and Codex, and no ads. For long Work sessions choose Pro; for teams that want chats kept out of training from day one, choose Business. Pro 200 stopped accepting new sign-ups on September 10, 2026 (existing subscriptions continue). Business is for teams of 2 to 200 employees.
For the latest details, see the ChatGPT pricing page. SIMY is priced separately from ChatGPT; see our pricing page.
Chat vs. ChatGPT Work vs. Codex, and how to use WorkStrengths, plans, usage limits, Scheduled Tasks

How to use ChatGPT Work
ChatGPT Work, released on July 9, 2026, is an agent for long, complex tasks. It researches and analyzes across your connected apps and files, then finishes documents, spreadsheets, presentations, reports and Sites. ChatGPT working through tasks on its own began with the earlier "agent mode," and Work now carries that role.
- Switch to Work. In the desktop app use the top-left menu; on web and mobile use the dropdown. The desktop app runs on macOS and Windows.
- Choose where it runs. Turn on "Work locally" to let it use files and apps on your computer. Run in the cloud to keep going after you close your laptop.
- Connect plugins. Slack, Google Drive, email, calendar and more connect via plugins. The old App Directory has been replaced by the Plugin Directory.
- Include where to stop in your instructions. Set approval points up front, like "Stop before entering the quote amount and ask me to confirm," and you'll redo less.
- Review the plan and approve. Work shows a plan before it starts. Answer its questions along the way and approve important actions.
Scheduled Tasks and usage limits
Work can schedule one-time runs, repeating runs such as every Monday at 9:00, and change monitoring. Since August 2026, MCP events from supported plugins can trigger automations too. Work and Codex share usage limits, with a cap every 5 hours. Pro gets 5x Plus, and Business premium seats have no 5-hour cap. Work itself has no extra fee.
How it relates to SIMY: Work and Codex are doers that finish the one task you assign. SIMY is the manager that picks up work from meetings and chats, runs the doer, and returns only decisions. SIMY uses Codex as its doer, so you use them together, not one instead of the other.
Security, data protection and company guidelinesTraining settings, share links, plugin permissions, and SIMY's approach
- Is it used for training? Business and Enterprise data is not used for model training by default. On personal plans it is on by default, so go to Settings → Data Controls and turn off "Improve the model for everyone."
- Main leak paths: shared chat links, a training setting left on, permissions given to plugins, and the file scope allowed for local runs. Settle these four first.
- Work permissions: Work Cloud, Work Local and Codex Local can be configured separately. On business plans, follow your workspace admin's policy.
- Five items for your guidelines: which information may be entered, training settings, share link rules, allowed scope for plugins and local runs, and who is responsible for checking output.
- SIMY's approach: Gmail stops at saving drafts. Posting to Slack and writing to Notion require your approval. When suggestions are created from conversation history on your computer, conversation content is not stored on our servers. Details are on our Security and Privacy Policy pages.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a way to stop typing the same instructions into ChatGPT every time?
Inside ChatGPT, custom instructions, projects and GPTs are the three ways to avoid retyping. But you still start each one, and each ends when the answer to that one request comes back. SIMY picks up work from meetings and chats, does it your way and returns only decisions. You use it on top of those ChatGPT features, not instead of them.
How do I stop ChatGPT from training on what I type?
Open Settings, go to Data Controls, and turn off "Improve the model for everyone." It is on by default on personal plans (Free, Go, Plus and Pro), so check it before entering client names or amounts. Business and Enterprise data is not used for training by default.
Can I use or build GPTs on the free plan?
On the free plan you can use GPTs from the GPT Store, but building your own GPTs requires a paid plan, Plus or above (as of October 2026).
Which plan do I need to build GPTs shared only inside my company?
GPTs shared only within a workspace can be built on business plans such as Team or Business and above. GPTs built on personal plans can be shared only with people who have the link or with everyone.
Should I choose ChatGPT Go or Plus?
If you want ChatGPT to do real work, Plus ($20/month, excluding tax, as of October 2026) is the minimum: Work and Codex run on web and mobile, and you can build GPTs. Go is for people who want more Chat usage, and like Free it shows ads. SIMY connects only to Plus and above, where Codex is available.
What is ChatGPT Work?
An agent for long, complex tasks, released by OpenAI on July 9, 2026. It researches and analyzes across your connected apps and files, then finishes documents, spreadsheets, presentations, reports and Sites. With Scheduled Tasks it can also run once, on a repeating schedule, or when something changes.
What is the difference between ChatGPT Work and Codex?
Work is an agent that finishes general work output such as research, analysis, documents and reports. Codex is an agent for software development. They share the same execution and permission model and the same usage limits, and GPT-6 Sol and Luna are models exclusive to Work and Codex.
What is the difference between ChatGPT Work and SIMY?
Work is a doer that finishes the one task you assign. SIMY is a manager that picks up work from meetings and Slack conversations, does it your way and returns only decisions. SIMY uses Codex in your own ChatGPT account as its doer, so you use them together, not one instead of the other.
Can I use ChatGPT Business on my own?
Business is a plan for teams of 2 to 200 employees, and includes an admin console, SAML/SSO, and business data excluded from training by default. On your own, Plus or Pro is the usual choice, and you can turn off training on personal plans too.
Does SIMY add separate AI usage fees?
SIMY connects to your own ChatGPT account and does the work through the Codex App Server. Codex usage falls within your ChatGPT plan. For SIMY's own pricing, see the pricing page.
Can I use SIMY with AI other than ChatGPT?
Cloud runs use your own ChatGPT account (Codex). On your computer, the SIMY desktop app and CLI can use Claude Code as well as Codex to do the work. That gives you a backup when one is down or hits its usage limit.
Can ChatGPT write Excel formulas or macros (VBA or Apps Script)?
Yes. Describe what you want in plain English and it returns a formula or code to paste into Excel or Apps Script. Don't paste confidential data, and check your training setting. For routine work you ask ChatGPT for every time, SIMY picks it up from meetings and chats and moves it forward.
